On November 9, 2025, the "CSIG Image & Graphics China Tour" made a vibrant stop at Jiangsu University in Zhenjiang! Co-organized by the China Society of Image and Graphics (CSIG) Multimedia Specialized Committee and Jiangsu University, this event brought together a brilliant lineup of minds in the field.
We were honored to host keynote speeches from leading experts: Professor Tian Qi, Chief Scientist at Huawei; Professor Sun Lifeng from Tsinghua University; Professor Zhang Yongbing from Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen); Associate Professor Zhang Shiliang from Peking University; and Researcher Yang Xiaoshan from the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The excitement was palpable, drawing over 100 enthusiastic faculty members and students to engage in the discussions.
The forum was chaired by Professor Cheng Keyang of Jiangsu University. Professor Sun Lifeng delivered the opening remarks, highlighting the event's significant role in fostering academic exchange and advancing the discipline, while extending a warm welcome to all participants.
A major highlight was the talk by Professor Tian Qi, Chief Scientist of Huawei's Terminal BG, titled "World Models: Initial Explorations and Reflections." Diving into the future of AI, Professor Tian discussed the evolutionary path toward Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). He emphasized that achieving AGI requires pushing large models from natural language to multimodal capabilities, and from simple perception to complex interaction. The presentation also showcased cutting-edge work in four key areas: deploying large models efficiently on devices, unifying multimodal understanding and generation architectures, enhancing long-video comprehension, and accurately modeling the real world using 3D/4D content — all pivotal steps toward building the next generation of powerful world models.
